About Bryan

The story behind the lens

There are two driving interests in my life that complement each other in many ways. First is the desire to experience nature in its most raw form by getting off the beaten path in any way possible. Whether that means a long hike in the mountains, a mountain bike ride through the woods, or a weekend camping in a remote area, I seek out the exhilaration of being consumed by the wilderness.

The second is the challenge of capturing that awe inspiring feeling in a photograph. There is not “one” image that will quench this thirst for the optimal photograph. It is a continual process to get to remote areas to enjoy the experience and capture it to share with others. I feel that being in the solitude of the wilderness enhances one’s perspective of their place in the world. Mother Nature is a very powerful and spiritual guide for me.

Through my photography I seek to document my own personal experiences and share the beauty of the world with others. The images of other photographers have inspired me to seek out photographs of natural wonder, travel destinations and urban architecture.

Originally I began my interest in photography in High School. I took one basic photography class, and it blossomed from there. I was distracted for many years while I obtained a Hotel and Restaurant Management degree along with other aspects of life.

I experienced a renewed enthusiasm for nature photography while I was living in the Last Frontier; Alaska. At this point, Digital Photography was the format to pursue. I bought my first point and shoot digital camera in 1999 and originally upgraded to a Canon 10D DSLR, which progressed to my current Sony Alpha 77 Mark II. Since then I have had many friends and family encourage me to sell my images to the public. Thus, my hobby has turned into a true business opportunity. I am expanding my subjects to include Urban, Wildlife, Landscapes, Special Events and People.

My goal for the current website is to share my portfolio. I am happy to sell any photographs, but sales are not the intention of this website.  I hope you enjoy the photos. Happy Shooting!
